What is cosmetic acupuncture?

Cosmetic acupuncture focuses on reducing acne, acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, brightening the complexion, reducing puffiness, and giving the skin a healthy, youthful look.

How does cosmetic acupuncture work for acne?

The goal is to reduce inflammation in the skin, balance hormones in the body,  and improve skin circulation to help increase oxygen and nutrients that the skin needs to heal and rebuild collagen around acne lesions.

How many treatments are needed?

The typical recommendation for cosmetic acupuncture for acne is two treatments per week for five or six weeks, or once per week for 10-12 weeks, depending on the patient’s acne severity, age, acne triggers, etc.

As with all types of acupuncture, repeated treatments are needed to for visible, lasting results.

No matter the goal (reducing acne or wrinkles), cosmetic acupuncture is usually a soft, subtle change. It’s a great alternative to more harsh cosmetic treatments, however, the results are not overnight.

Typically patients begin to see a change in their skin around the fifth or sixth treatment.

Are maintenance treatments recommended?

Yes. Once the full series of 10-12 treatments has been completed, it is recommended to have one cosmetic acupuncture “maintenance” treatment every four weeks to maintain your results.

Do you offer a package for cosmetic acupuncture for acne?

Yes. We have the Acne Care Cosmetic Acupuncture Package:

– 12 Treatment Package – $1100 (Get one treatment free)

– 60 minute follow-up treatment – $100

Each treatment includes cosmetic acupuncture, Celluma LED Light (blue light acne setting), and acupuncture points on the body to treat underlying conditions.

One treatment per week for 12 weeks OR two treatments per week for six weeks, based on your availability, severity of acne, and acne triggers.

Monthly follow up appointments are recommended.

What is the Celluma LED Skincare Light and how does it help acne?

Backed by research, Celluma is a comfortable, non-invasive and safe add-on that is based on technology originally developed by NASA to help keep astronauts’ cells in optimal health in non-gravity situations.

Today it’s used to enhance cellular healing and protein (collagen & elastin) production in the skin, as well as to reduce P. acnes bacteria on the skin surface to help clear up acne.
